Parks inner Child Therapy, (PICT), is a unique form of rapid cognitive therapy. It is the creation of Penny Parks, who was herself sexually abused as a child, by several family members and she has developed this unique therapy from her own experiences.

The focus of PICT is to empower clients by assisting them to resolve past issues that have left them with limiting feelings and behaviours. PICT contains effective, powerful methods, to quickly bring about change. PICT was designed to help adult victims of childhood abuse but the methods work just as effectively for anyone with relationship, behavioural and emotional problems.

The most significant feature of PICT is that it can bring about change compassionately because there is little or no need to disclose the details of traumatic events. With PICT no specific techniques are required to recover repressed traumatic memories, which often only re-traumatises clients, is time consuming and may in some cases be harmful. PICT addresses the effects of the trauma, whether the trauma is in conscious memory or not, rather than focusing on the details of an event. It therefore allows the option for clients to retain their privacy, dignity and to work comfortably to bring about beneficial changes in their live.
